1. Create and perform a recital as a group (40%):

-Communicate the sense of the written word
-Speak from memory with accuracy
-Indicate changes in mood
-Deliver links in the form of an introduction, linking statements and a conclusion

2. Use appropriate technical skills (40%):

-Speak with audibility appropriate to the performance space
-Speak with clarity of diction
-Speak with appropriate use of pace
-Demonstrate vocal contrast between moods
-Use facial expression appropriate to the demands of the text
-Make effective use of the performance space
-Perform with expression and confidence

3. Interact as a group (20%):

-Listen to each other and interact appropriately
-Use group rhythm and timing appropriate to the content of the recital
-Share responsibility for the group performance

News Feature Presentation:

-The news presentation should be entirely based on the chosen article
-Candidates should summarize the facts in the chosen article and present the news in their own words
-They SHOULD NOT simply read out the article
-Cue cards may be used, but the emphasis will be on direct communication.
